The Precor 9.25I is one of the many treadmills made by Precor.
The Precor 9.25I is low-impact treadmill that was awarded an Overall Excellence in Customer Satisfaction award in 1999 by a poll taken by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and Harris Black International. The pole included treadmills priced over $2,000. Although the Precor 9.25I is an older model treadmill, Precor is still a popular brand of fitness equipment.
Heart Rate and Programs
The Precor 9.25I is compatible with a Polar heart rate monitor. Polar makes heart rate monitors with chest straps for constant monitoring. This eliminates the need to take your pulse via a heart rate monitor watch. The Precor 9.25I works with the monitoring system so that you can choose a program that will keep you in a particular heart rate zone. The Interactive Heart Rate and Interactive Weight Loss programs both use the heart rate feature, making sure you stay in the heart rate range either for improving cardiovascular fitness or losing weight. There are five total programmed courses, including a custom, interval and random in addition to the interactive programs. The interval program improves aerobic conditioning whereas the random program may do anything. You can create your own custom program that will store up to eight miles of data. You also may use the Quickstart program, which is simply a manual program that lets you regulate speed and incline.
Design Features
The Precor 9.25I has a 17-inch wide surface that is slip-resistant, according to Strategik.com. The treadmill's frame is made from aluminum so that it will not rust or chip. The display shows you your speed, distance, course profile and a heart rate fitness score. The treadmill can incline up to a 15 percent grade.
Convenience Features
The Precor 9.25I treadmill comes with a few features that Precor says were customer-requested. It has a reading rack that you can stack a book or magazine upright against while you exercise. There is also a water bottle holder so you can keep a source of hydration near by. The treadmill bed and belt system is self-lubricating for less overall maintenance on your part so you can spend more time working out instead of working on the machine. You can flip the belt to extend its life.
Safety Features
The Precor treadmill requires a safety key to be inserted into the console or it will not run. You can clip the end of the safety key's cord to your shorts so if you get too far back on the belt to reach the console and stop the belt, the key will pull out and the belt will stop automatically.
