Powerpoint Projector Rental

Powerpoint Projector

A projector can be enhanced with features that are useful for Powerpoint presentations. They can be used with a PC or laptop. You don't need a technical background to choose the right one to rent--follow the basic guidelines below to help you make the right selection for your needs.

Instructions

1. Choose the projector with the right resolution for your presentation. This is the sharpness of the image you will see on your screen. On your computer, the most common resolutions are 800 by 600 and 1024 by 768. They refer to the number of dots per inch of light that display the images you view. More dots per inch equal a sharper image. For Powerpoint presentations, a projector that can adjust for 1024 by 768 will work well. Higher resolution projectors are available (such as 1,280 by 1,024), but they are more expensive to rent.

2. Think of the distance your projector will be from the screen. This called the throw distance. Most projectors produce an image from five to fifteen feet. If you need one for a further distance, ask for one with a large throw lens.

3. Select a projector with a bulb suitable for rooms with bright light. Projector bulbs are measured in lumens. For Powerpoint presentations that will be shown to large audiences, consider a projector with a bulb of at least 5,200 lumens.

4. Consider the number of days you will need to rent the Powerpoint projector. Most companies will require a deposit in advance. Some have a minimum number of days you must pay to rent their equipment. Others have annual lease contracts available or single day rentals.

5. Consider computer compatibility with the projector. Most projectors work with a Microsoft or Macintosh operating system. Ask the rental company which versions work with their projectors (such as Windows XP, Vista or Mac OS X).

6. Think of your company's budget. Get a few quotes and consider how much you can spend per day on a Powerpoint projector rental.

7. Make sure you have the all the cords and connection ports you will need. For most computer attachments you will need it to be VGA/S-Video/RCA compatible.

8. Schedule the rental ahead of time to ensure that the projector will be delivered to your location on time. Be sure that they have customer support to assist you if you have any difficulties.
