Uniden Scanner Directions

Uniden produces a line of radio scanners that will automatically scan through multiple emergency radio frequencies including police, ambulance and other public stations. These devices are also portable, allowing you to use them in your home and in your vehicle to stay on top of what is happening in your area. You can set the scanner to operate fully and search for emergency signals in a few moments.

Instructions

1. Press the Power button on the front panel of your Uniden scanner to turn it on. Hold the button down for two seconds to power the device on and off.

2. Turn the Squelch knob at the top of the scanner all the way to the left. You will hear a hissing sound through the speakers or headphones. Adjust the Volume knob to the right or left to adjust the volume to a comfortable level. Turn the Squelch knob to the right until the hissing stops.

3. Press the Scan button to begin scanning for emergency signals. This function will move through preprogrammed stations constantly while scan mode is initiated. You may hear nothing through the speakers while this is occurring, but you will see the frequencies changing in the display on the front of your Uniden scanner. When the scanner reaches a station that is currently broadcasting something, it will stop on that station for a preset amount of time.

4. Press the Hold button to stop the scanning process and remain on a channel. The scanner will stay on this station until you press the Scan button again.

5. Press the Menu button to access the scanner's menu options. Use the Scroll knob to move through the various menu options, and press the E button to select the option you want. Using the Scroll knobs and E button, you can change the settings of your device to suit your needs.
