Single-handle faucets have a ball-type assembly.
Moen manufactures a wide range of bathroom and kitchen faucets. The single-handle kitchen faucet has a ball-like assembly on the inside that controls the flow of hot and cold water. Ball-type faucets have a variety of parts. Nailing down which part of the assembly is causing the leak is difficult. Luckily, Moen sells a ball-type assembly replacement kit that takes the guesswork out of the repair. Contact your local Moen dealer for your faucet replacement kit.
Instructions
1. Turn the water supply handles underneath the sink to cut the water supply to the faucet. Lift up on the handle to remove all water from the supply lines.
2. Insert an Allen wrench into the base of the faucet handle where the screw is located. Turn the screw counterclockwise to remove it.
3. Lift up on the handle to remove it from the faucet.
4. Grab the plastic collar around the exposed ball assembly with a pair of pliers and pull to remove the cap and collar.
5. Fit the removal tool that comes with your replacement kit over the ball assembly. Turn it with a wrench to remove the cam washer and the rotating ball.
6. Grab the spring and inlet seal from inside the faucet body with pliers to remove.
7. Insert the replacement kit and reassemble.
