Origami is the ancient practice of folding paper. With patience and practice you can turn sheets of papers into works of art. An origami oyster is one project that is fun to create.
Instructions
1. Place the square origami paper color side down and fold the paper diagonally. Then fold the paper vertically in half. Open the pocket on the right side and flatten it -- making a square. Turn the paper over and open the back pocket. Flatten it into a square.
2. The paper should be in the shape of a square. Turn the shape to face you so it looks like a diamond. Fold the left, right, and top corners over to make three creases. The creases should make a triangle in the middle of the paper. Lift the bottom corner completely up and flatten the structure.
3. Turn the structure over. Take the right and left edges and fold them halfway to the center. Then fold the edges outward, as if you were making a paper fan. Fold the edges backward at the crease that was created when you folded the edges halfway to the center.
4. Open the top half of the paper. The top should resemble the top of an oyster shell inside a diamond shape. Fold the tips of the four points under the structure. Then fold the bottom piece under the top.
