Install A Mower Deck On A John Deere 212

The mower deck on the John Deere 212 is a dual-blade deck used for mowing grass. It suspends from the underside of the tractor with a series of rods. When you remove the blades or replace the mower deck drive belt, you must remove the deck from the tractor. The installation process is relatively straightforward and will only take a short while to complete.

Instructions

1. Slide the mower deck under the tractor, and center it from side to side but positioned slightly towards the front.

2. Place wooden blocks under each side of the deck to lift it off the ground and to support it.

3. Wrap the drive belt around the pulley located under the engine, and then pull the deck back slightly towards the back of the tractor.

4. Lift the suspension rods up, and rest the holes in the rods over the holes in the brackets mounted to the underside of the mower deck.

5. Slide the attachment pins supplied with the mower through the holes in the brackets and in the rods.

6. Slide the cotter pin through the pin hole in the attachment pin to lock the deck in place.
