Nuclear Technician Schools In The United States

There are numerous schools that offer degree programs for nuclear technology.


There are a number of schools in the United States that offer nuclear technician programs. Both two-year associate degree programs and four-year bachelor's programs will prepare you for a career in nuclear technology. At some schools, you can even create your own individualized program that will prepare you for a job in the nuclear technology field. A nuclear technology degree will prepare you for many positions at a nuclear power plant, or give you a career in the military.


Excelsior College


Excelsior College offers a Bachelor's of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology. Excelsior's program "emphasizes practical applications of engineering principles as they relate to the nuclear industry." This nationally accredited program also requires that students complete the Integrated Technology Assessment (ITA) upon completion of coursework.

University of North Texas


The University of North Texas offers an undergraduate program in mechanical and energy engineering, which will set students up for a career in nuclear technology. The coursework includes math and basic science courses, including physics, computer science and chemistry.

Terra Community College








Terra Community College offers a nuclear power technology major, which prepares students for many aspects of nuclear technology. Along with classwork, students participate in a fieldwork program that's run at the nearby Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station.
