Ontario, Canada is home to several quality medical schools.
Medical schools in Ontario, Canada, are among the best in the nation. Some, in fact, are among the best in the world and are on par with any American medical college. With the rising costs of a college education--including medical school--and the changing face of the health care industry, it may be smart to pursue medical studies abroad and obtain a degree with some international appeal.

Northern Ontario School of Medicine
Located in Sudbury, Ontario, the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) is the result of a collaborative effort by Laurentian University and Lakehead University to bring medical education to the northern portion of the province. The school is relatively new, having been founded in 2005. Because the two universities sponsoring the school are more than 1,200 kilometers apart, the school makes extensive use of distance education through online training modules. NOSM offers both undergraduate and graduate education in the field of medicine. Students at NOSM are exposed to three primary areas of emphasis: Aboriginal communities, small northern Canadian communities and the large urban centers of northern Ontario.
