The Miss America Pageant is known as the largest scholarship program in the country. The organization's contestants are seasoned pageant winners from all over the country. The hosts of the pageant are often well-known in their own right and host the televised portion of the pageant. Use these steps to learn a little more about the Miss America pageant and be a host.

1. Be in the entertainment industry. Often it is those already well-known in the entertainment industry that get chosen to host pageants, award shows and other television hosting spots. If you are already in entertainment you have an advantage. If you are not well known, consider getting into entertainment to better your chances.
2. Know Donald Trump personally. Since Donald Trump is the owner of the Miss America pageant and organization, if you knew him personally there would be an opportunity to get the hosting position on his recommendation to the planning board of the pageant.
3. Use your connections as a past crown holder. If you are a past Miss America title holder, you are more likely to be given the opportunity to host. The organization always likes to have the involvement of past winners and would encourage a past crown holder for the hosting spot, if they have had hosting experience since their reign.
4. Get appointed by the Miss America organization. The Miss America organization plans for years in advance who the hosts are going to be for each telecast ceremony. They often make the desicion among themselves and offer the invitation to the celebrity of their choosing.
