Use Kitchen Aid Silicone Bakeware

Sillicone bakeware conducts heat more evenly than metal bakeware.

Silicone bakeware, like that sold by KitchenAid, is exactly what it sounds like: bakeware made of silicone. Silicone does not absorb odors, is heat-stable over a wide temperature range and is safe for the dishwasher, freezer and microwave. Because silicone bakeware easily releases what is baked inside of it, you do not have to grease silicone pans the way you do metal pans.

Instructions

1. Read the label of your Kitchen Aid cookware. The FDA requires that all bakeware has a label that lists the temperature ranges at which it can be used. KitchenAid bakeware works well between 0 and 500 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Place silicone bakeware on a cookie sheet for additional stability. KitchenAid silicone is flexible and requires additional stability to avoid spills.

3. Season KitchenAid bakeware the first time you use it by spraying it with cooking spray. This is only required the first time you bake with the bakeware.

4. Fill each compartment of muffin tins or cake tins halfway with batter. Place in the oven to cook as the recipe directs.

5. Remove KitchenAid bakeware using oven mitts. Although the bakeware cools rapidly, it will be very hot when you first remove it.

6. Turn the bakeware over to slide the baked goods out of their compartments.

Tips Warnings

Never use silicone bakeware on direct heat sources such as stove tops or hot plates.

Do not scrub bakeware with knives or steel wool. Doing so can damage bakeware surfaces.
