List Of Stores That Carry Bowflex

Bowflex is a series of exercise equipment, including home gym sets, benches, dumbbells, and heart monitor watches. Bow Flex of America, Inc., was founded in 1986, but Tessema Shifferaw created the first Bowflex machine in 1979. The first mass marketing campaign for Bowflex began in 1996, and by 1998 the company made $19.5 million dollars selling its product. In 1998, Bowflex changed its name to Direct Focus, Inc. Below is a list of sporting goods stores that carry these products.

Dick's Sporting Goods

Dick's Sporting Goods carries many Bowflex products, including five home gym sets, two dumbbell benches, one treadmill, one dumbbell stand, and one 10-90lbs dumbbell set. Dick Stack founded what would become Dick's Sporting Goods in 1948. It was originally a small tackle shop, catering to the needs of fishermen. His grandmother gave him $300 dollars to open his shop, after being told by his boss that he would never be a good merchant. Ten years later, he began to host more products that resemble the store as it is today. There are now over three hundred franchises.

Dunham Sports

Dunham Sports holds eight Bowflex products; the Blaze Home Gym, 3.1 Select Tech Dumbbell Bench, PR1000 Home Gym, and the PR3000 Home Gym, to name a few. Dunham Sports was founded in Waterford, Michigan, in 1937. Like Dick's Sporting Goods, it also started as a bait and tackle store. Dunham has stores in twelve states, and has over one hundred and fifty stores nationwide.

Sports Authority

Sports Authority lists thirteen Bowflex items, some of which are the SelectTech Dumbbell Stand, 10lbs-90lbs SelectTech Dumbbells, PR1000 Home Gym, 5.1 SelectTech, Precision 7.0 Heart Rate Monitor, and the Fit Trainer 10S Strapless Heart Rate Monitor. Sports Authority has been around in one form or another, for almost a century. It has over four hundred and fifty stores, in forty-five states. Its headquarters are in Englewood, Colorado.

Modells

Modells has three Bowflex home gym sets, two dumbbell benches (versions 3.1 and 5.1), two sets of dumbbells, and a Select Tech Dumbbell Stand. Morris A. Modell founded the Modell Store in 1889, with its first location in lower Manhattan, on Cortlandt Street. Since that time, his family has been running the business, with more than one hundred and forty stores throughout the Northeast.

Academy

Academy carries one Bowflex home gym set, the Bowflex PR 1000 Home Gym. Max Gochman founded Academy Tire Shop in San Antonio, Texas. The year was 1938. He changed the name to Academy Super Surplus in 1958, and moved the store to Austin, Texas. According to the Academy Sports Website, Gochman's son Arthur opened six Academy Super Surplus stores in Houston, Texas in 1973. It now has more than one hundred stores in the southeastern states of the U.S.
