Honeywell Programmable Thermostat (RTH7600) Installation Question

I purchased a Honeywell Programmable Thermostat (RTH7600) and I need installation help regarding the wiring. My furnace is a Lennox Elite G26 Series with a White-Rodgers Surelight (97L4801) ignition system. When my step-father installed the new thermostat, he did not label the existing wiring before he removed the old thermostat and now the new thermostat won’t work. I’ve searched on Google, but everything I found referenced 5 wires. There are only 4 wires coming out of my wall (red, green, blue and white); therefore, I’m not sure how the new thermostat should be wired. On the White-Rodgers Surelight control box, the controls are labeled as Y, G, W, R, C. There are two different groups of wires leading up to the controls. One group consists of a red, blue, green and white wire and they are connected as follows: Blue wire is connected to Y Green wire is connected to G White wire is connected to W Red wire is connected to R. There is not a wire connected to C The other group consists of a red and white wire and they are connected as follows: Red wire is connected to Y White wire is connected to C Attached to my post is the Honeywell thermostat installation wiring instructions which shows: Green wire to G Yellow wire to Y White wire to W Red wire to R (remove metal jumper if you have both R and Rc wires) Given that I have a blue wire coming out of my wall and I don’t have a yellow wire at all, should I connect the blue wire to Y? I would greatly appreciate any help Forum members can provide! Thanks much!! Steph yes, you are correct....Blue to Y @ thermostat. Make sure you go into the installation options and setup the stat for your system. Hopefully the power to the furnace was shutoff before you started the process as indicated in the instructions.... If not you need to check the low voltage fuse on the control board if there is one or there may be a small circuit breaker that is tripped. Thank you so much!!! My step-father did not have the thermostat wired correctly. He wired it as follows: Red wire to C Green wire to G White wire to W Blue wire to R He did turn the power to the furnace off before he installed the thermostat, but he turned the power on after he installed the thermostat incorrectly. Because the thermostat wouldn’t work, I turned the power off. Based on your reply, I changed the wires and turned the power on. However, I’m now wondering if the power being turned on when the wiring was incorrect could have damaged my furnace. Should I have a Heating and Cooling company take a look at my furnace? Thanks again! No, everything is fine if it works. The only damage that could have been done was a blown fuse or tripped ckt breaker. It does not sound like that is a problem if everything works. If one of these items had a problem then nothing would work. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I truly appreciate your help!!
