Raffle tickets are available in a variety of styles.
School fundraisers can successfully benefit on-campus groups, such as sports teams, academic clubs or the school band and choir. Fundraisers may also be held to help with a particular, one-time cost not included in the annual school budget, such as a new trophy case or sign for the school. Individual classes might with to raise funds for extra classroom supplies or equipment, as well. Classes may compete against one another to encourage fundraising efforts.
Talent Show
In a battle of the classrooms talent show, each classroom should solicit volunteers from among the class members to perform. Students can raise funds by asking for a donation for admission to the talent show and by selling programs for the event. Judges may include prominent local community members and school employees. Judges should award each contestant points in categories such as style, costume and uniqueness. At the end of the event, the classroom with the most points should be declared the winner.
Spelling Bee
Members of both classes can organize and participate in a spelling bee to raise funds. Students can raise funds for their class team by seeking pledges; donors may contribute a flat amount or a donation per correct word spelled by the team. The event can include spectators, who may be allowed to cheer for contestants. Spelling bee judges and an announcer can be chosen from school faculty, staff or administration, or prominent community members. Before the event, both teams should agree on a word list and rules.
Teacher Raffle
The teacher of each competing classroom can be auctioned off by his students. Raffle tickets may be sold by the members of both classrooms. Each teacher should agree to donate a preset amount of hours during which they will do an activity with the winner of the raffle. Ideas for activities the student and teacher can do together include working for a local charitable organization, playing a sport or cooking. This fundraiser gives students and teachers an opportunity to know one another outside the classroom setting. The class that raises the most money should be declared the winner of the battle.
Volunteer Work
A battle of the classrooms can involve charitable work. Each class should seek pledges from donors, with an agreed upon amount of time being donated to a charity for each dollar given. For example, Class A might agree that for each dollar given, a student will work one minute at the local animal shelter. Class B could agree that for each donated dollar, a student would volunteer at the local soup kitchen for one minute. All students should be involved in the charitable work performed, and the class that raises the most funds should be declared the winner.
