It also specializes in international law, intellectual property law, business law and advocacy. Almost 97 percent of law school graduates have found jobs 9 months after graduation. The average starting salary for the new lawyers is $82,600. Besides offering day classes for full-time students, the law school also offers evening classes for part-time students. Approximately 850 students attend law school.

The University of Baltimore School of Law is the biggest law school in Maryland with approximately 1,000 students. It was founded in 1925, with 38 members of its first graduating class in 1928. For four decades, classes were only offered in the evenings to part-time students with the law school started day classes for full-time students in 1969. Areas of concentration include criminal practice, real estate law, family law, international law and business law.

Georgetown University School of Law
Georgetown University School of Law is located just a hop, skip and a jump away for Maryland residents who want to be lawyers. Located at the foot of Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., the school is a magnet for students interested in government. It is one of the nation's top law schools, coming in 14th for 10 years in U.S. News & World Report's annual list of top law schools. Georgetown began offering law classes in 1870, and was the first law school in the United States established by the Jesuits. Famous alums include Philip A. Hart, a U.S. senator referred to as the "Conscience of the Senate," and Edward Bennett Williams, a famous trial lawyer.
