Online law schools allow students to earn degrees from home.
Though no online law school is accredited by the American Bar Association, many are accredited through accreditation bodies that allow graduates to practice law in California upon passing the state bar exam. Schools such as the Abraham Lincoln School of Law, the Taft Law School and the Concord Law School have pioneered online law degrees and allow students to earn a law degree from home.
Abraham Lincoln School of Law
The Abraham Lincoln School of Law has been offering online legal degrees since 1996. The school is unique in that it offers degrees online, but students in the Los Angeles area are also able to attend live studio lectures at no extra cost. The school focuses on preparing students for the California bar examination.
Taft Law School
The Taft Law School is accredited through the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council and offers Juris Doctor, Executive Juris Doctor, master's and bachelor's degrees. The Juris Doctor degree allows students to practice law in California and is a four-year online program. The Executive Juris Doctor program is aimed at students who wish to add a legal background to their careers and is a three-year program.
Concrod School of Law
Like the other schools, the Concord School of Law offers Juris Doctor and Executive Juris Doctor degrees through online study. It is accredited through the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council, which allows students to practice law in California.
