The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) in Augusta is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the nursing program is accredited by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education. MCG offers a number of degree programs in the nursing field, including a bachelor of science in nursing. At the graduate level, the school of nursing offers several master of science concentrations, including the specialties of clinical nurse leader, family nurse practitioner, nursing anesthesia and pediatric nurse practitioner. Mercer University
Mercer University houses the Georgia Baptist College of Nursing, and also is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. At the undergraduate level, Mercer offers two tracks leading to a bachelor of science degree in nursing. One program is designed for those who have an associate's degree and have received their licensing but wish to obtain a bachelor's degree. The second is for undergraduates not yet employed or licensed in the field. The university also offers the master of science degree in acute care clinical nursing and nursing education. Mercer additionally offers a PhD with three primary areas of concentration: nursing education, ethics and clinical scholarship.

Georgia College and State University
Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville offers students a third alternative to receive a quality nursing education. The college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the nursing school by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. The nursing school offers a bachelor of science degree. The RN-BSN (for licensed nurses with an associate's degree) program is offered online. The school also offers a number of master of science concentrations that include adult health, family nurse practitioner and nursing administration. This program also offers the joint MSN/MBA degree for those interested in enhancing their resumes before entering the field of health administration.
