There are many scholarships available for women and minority students.


Finding ways to pay for college can be challenging and many students often turn to education loans if other types of funding aren't available. Vanguard Women in Information Technology Scholarship Program


The Vanguard Women in Information Technology Scholarship Program is an $8,000 award that is presented to outstanding female seniors who are completing degrees in computer science, computer engineering, web design or any other discipline related to information technology. To be eligible, you must be enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university and demonstrate academic excellence, leadership skills and an interest in a career in the IT sector.

Fisher Communications Minority Scholarship


Fisher Communications offers a scholarship program to minority students who are residents of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California and Montana. For residents of these states, the scholarship may be used for both in-state and out-of-state tuition. To be eligible, you must be a member of a racial or ethnic minority group enrolled in your sophomore year or higher in a degree program related to some aspect of broadcasting. Awards are granted based on need, academic merit and personal qualities.

College Scholarships Foundation Women's Scholarship


The College Scholarship Foundation Women's Scholarship is a $1,000 award that is open to female undergraduates and graduate students across the country. To apply, you must be enrolled in an accredited degree program and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Awards are granted based on academic merit and your response to a personal essay related to your views on women in the workplace. Applications are accepted online only.

NCAA Ethnic Minority Women's Scholarship


The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) offers the Ethnic Minority Women's Scholarship to students entering their first year of an accredited sports management graduate program. To be eligible for the $6,000 award, you must have been accepted but not yet enrolled in a graduate degree program leading to a career in intercollegiate athletics. Female students of all ethnic minority backgrounds are encouraged to apply and awards are granted based on extracurricular activities, academic achievement and potential for success.

Xerox Technical Minority Scholarship Program


Xerox offers a scholarship program for minority students who are pursuing degrees in technical fields, including chemistry, information management, computer science, materials science, engineering, laser optics and physics. Award amounts range from $1,000 to $10,000 and to be eligible, you must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be of African American, Asian, Pacific Island, Native American, Native Alaskan, or Hispanic descent.
