Funding the cost of a post-secondary education is often overwhelming. Many programs assist students in making their academic goals attainable. Instructions
1. Choose the trade school you want to attend. Get all pertinent information regarding the cost of attendance from their Financial Aid office. Many schools offer private scholarships based on a variety of factors such as need, scholastic merit and the program of study. Get information on all institution-based scholarships that apply to you.
2. Assess your personal resources. Many employers offer tuition reimbursement programs. If you are currently employed, see if this is an option available to you. If you were are, or were in the military you may qualify for the GI Bill or other educational financial assistance programs.
3. Inquire if the trade school you want to attend accepts federally funded financial aid. If they do, fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid online. The FAFSA offers need-based financial assistance in the forms of both loans and grants.
4. Look for scholarships available outside the institution you want to attend. Many organizations offer scholarships to students who display financial need and who exhibit superior academic qualities. Some of these scholarships are based on past grades or test scores. Others are based on race, minority affiliation, gender, area of study, personal interests, career goals or any combination of these factors.
