Course Requirements For An Entering Freshmen At The Kaplan College

With a variety of schools scattered around the United States, Kaplan College requires certain courses to be met before entering the schools. Founded in 1937, the college had 64 campuses in 2004 and two of the colleges are accredited as universities and provide degrees under the umbrella. While the requirements vary across the board for different programs, the general basis of the college is simple, requiring a high school diploma or certain courses to be met.

University Preparation

Kaplan provides training for those who do not necessarily have the required courses needed to enter the university. They also provide courses that prepare individuals to enter into law or medical programs. While there are no specific courses required to enter the program, courses are needed to complete the preparatory tests. There is no age requirement stated, although Kaplan assumes that individuals entering the program are out of high school and attempting to enter an undergraduate program. A high school diploma or GED are not required for these courses.

Undergraduate Requirements

Kaplan provides all individuals the chance to catch up on requirements for degrees they apply to. The Kaplan Interanational Colleges and Northeastern University Pathway are just two means of obtaining the requirements. There are no course requirements in to these programs, and the academics themselves prepare students to become academic leaders and enter in to the level required at universities.

English Language

Many students come from overseas into Kaplan English learning programs. There are a variety of steps to be undertaken to become fluent, though entry at the freshman level in these courses does not have any requirements. To move up in the programs, to become fluent in English, and enter in to their business or English exam preparation programs, general English must be taken or the students must pass English equivalency tests to enter.

Professional Training

Professional training can be entered at the freshman level with no course requirements. English is a must, but courses do not have to be taken by those whose first language is English and there is an equivalency test that must be passed by those who wish to enter the programs whose second language is English. The requirements to obtain the educational designations are given in the courses themselves.
