Find Your Act Score

After you take the ACT standardized test and turn it in, you will need to wait up to 2 1/2 weeks to find and access your ACT score online. Many reports are made available within one week of the testing date but can take up to 2 1/2 weeks, depending on the number of reports being processed.

ACT scores are made available to students after testing both online and through standard postal mail. ACT scores are sent out to the schools listed as recipients on the student's ACT test form via standard postal mail as well.

Instructions

Online

1. Wait at least one week after taking your ACT test. Log onto the official ACT website using your student account access information. If you do not have a student access account you will need to create one. The link for the ACT scores results and account creation/access has been included in the References section at the end of this article.

2. View the test score availability schedule on the ACT website. This chart, available at the link in References, will show a test date along with the estimated dates when the scores will become available.

Wait until the first available date listed for the date that you took the test to check the scores online.

3. Return to the ACT website daily to check for an update if the score is not there initially. ACT states that the online scores will be available in most cases within 2 1/2 weeks of the test date.

You will need to log into your student account on the ACT website each time you go to check a score.

You can also order additional scores to be sent to colleges, universities and your home address through the online account access site.

Through the Postal Service

4. Fill out your correct home mailing address on the ACT test form when signing up to take the ACT test. If you do not fill out an address you will not get a paper copy of your test results and you may not get any score results.

5. Wait 3 to 8 weeks for the scores to be mailed out via postal mail. During this time frame, scores will also be mailed to the schools that you have listed on the ACT test form.

The ACT test issuer states that ACT tests with a writing portion will be mailed out within five to eight weeks after the testing date.

6. Verify the information on the score reports is correct when you receive them in the mail. This includes verifying personal information such as name and date of birth as well as the list of schools that the report was sent to.

You will also be able to view your score results on the paper score report for each section of the ACT test such as written and verbal.
