Two institutions compile the rankings each year: Architectural Record, and the highly respected source book DesignIntelligence. Cornell University, Syracuse University, Columbia University and Princeton University are routinely considered the top institutions in New York and New Jersey for interior design and architecture.

Cornell University, in Ithaca, New York, offers students access to the coveted Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree, a five-year professional program.
