The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, or NAIA, is an association that organizes athletic competition for colleges and universities. The NAIA sponsors 23 championships annually for sports, including basketball, baseball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, indoor and outdoor track, volleyball and wrestling. Of the nearly 300 member institutions of the NAIA, 18 are located in Indiana.
Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference
The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference requires schools to field teams in nine sports, including men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball and women's volleyball. Five NAIA schools in Indiana are members of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference: the Calumet College of St. Joseph Crimson Wave of Whiting, the Holy Cross College Saints of Notre Dame, the Indiana University South Bend Titans of South Bend, the Purdue University Calumet Peregrines of Hammond and the Purdue University North Central Panthers of Westville.
Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
The Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference requires schools to field teams in 15 sports, including men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's track and field, men's and women's tennis, softball, women's volleyball and baseball. Two NAIA schools in Indiana are members of the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference: the Indiana University East Red Wolves of Richmond and the Indiana University Southeast Grenadiers of New Albany.
Mid-Central College Conference
The Mid-Central College Conference requires schools to field teams in 14 sports, including baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, men's golf, men's and women's soccer, softball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track and field and women's volleyball. Eight NAIA schools in Indiana are members of the Mid-Central College Conference: the Bethel College Pilots of Mishawaka, the Goshen College Maple Leafs of Goshen, the Grace College Lancers of Winona Lake, the Huntington University Foresters of Huntington, the Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats of Marion, the Marian University Knights of Indianapolis, the Taylor University Trojans of Upland and the University of St. Francis Cougars of Fort Wayne.
Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference
The Indiana Institute of Technology, located in Fort Wayne, is a member of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. The Warriors field teams in men's and women's basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis and track and field, men's baseball, women's softball and women's volleyball.
NAIA Independent Schools in Indiana
Indiana University Northwest, located in Gary, is not affiliated with any NAIA conference. The Redhawks field teams in men's and women's basketball and women's volleyball.
Mid-States Football Association Schools in Indiana
The Mid-States Football Association is a football-only conference. Three NAIA schools In Indiana participate in association competition: the Marian College Knights of Indianapolis, the Taylor University Trojans of Upland and the University of St. Francis Cougars of Fort Wayne.
