With a number of scholarships offered by the Malaysian government in order to support bright students, pursuing your higher education can be much easier

Attaining your tertiary education in Malaysia, whether it be an Undergraduate or Graduate degree, can be difficult with the steadily rising cost of tuition at the nation's best universities. With added expenses such as application fees, textbooks and living expenses, an education can seem almost impossible to fund for the average student. However, with a number of scholarships offered by the Malaysian government in order to support bright students, pursuing your higher education can be much easier. So whether you want to participate in a cultural exchange or simply expand your knowledge, there is a scholarship available out there for you.

Malaysia International Scholarships (MIS)

To be eligible for the scholarships, applicants must have completed their secondary education

You don't have to be Malaysian to benefit from The Malaysian Government's generous scholarships. The Ministry of Higher Education offers the Malaysia International Scholarships, competitive scholarships for international students with excellent academic records. The undergraduate studies and postgraduate scholarships were established to encourage foreign students to pursue their higher education at Malaysia's top educational institutions and to strengthen bilateral relations between Malaysia and participating countries.

Each scholarship consists of full tuition fees for a course of the student's choice at the educational institution of the student's choice, return air tickets from recipient's capital city to Malaysia, a monthly maintenance allowance and a yearly grant for books and internal travel.

To be eligible for the scholarships, applicants must have completed their secondary education, have an excellent record of leadership in extracurricular or social activities and must have two recent academic or personal references.

Finalists are examined by a panel established by the Ministry of Higher Education.
