Computer Science Education Grants

Scholarships are available for computer science majors.

To help the field of technology grow and develop, many organizations offer scholarships for computer science majors. Students at all levels of post-secondary education--from recent high school graduates to PhD candidates--can apply for scholarships to help offset the cost of tuition. Special scholarships are available to women and minority students who tend to be underrepresented in the area of computer science and related fields.

National SMART Grant

Students in the third or fourth year of their undergraduate education and are majoring in computer science are eligible to receive the National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent (SMART) grant. Applicants must be eligible to receive a federal Pell grant and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Funds are given in $4,000 increments for the third and fourth year of a student's education. A grant recipient must be enrolled in at least one course pertaining to her major while receiving the grant.
