Create A Home School Network

Home schooling is a popular educational alternative option for many families. However, when a parent is home schooling their children, both the parents and children often feel isolated and alone. This is why is it important to form home school networks where you can interact with other parents who are also home schooling their children.

Instructions

1. Decide which type of home school support group you would like to join. There are groups that are based on age, grade level, religion and special interest. Once you find one that interests you, join this support group.

2. Create your own home school group. You can set up a home school group on Yahoo!, MSN or through other Internet based programs. Set it up so that it allows open registration so other parents and students can freely join your group.

3. Check with the chamber of commerce in your community to see if there are any local home school groups that meet regularly.

4. Advertise or look for advertisements at the local library for home school groups, activities and other events. Many times, home school groups post their activities and events at the local library or in community newsletters or newspapers.

5. Develop ways for home school parents and students to keep in touch. You can communicate through telephone, email, IM chats and in-person meetings. Keep track of those you communicate with, when you communicate and the topics covered.
