Savannah Technical College (STC) is a public, accredited, two-year institution located in Savannah, Georgia. The school, which was established in 1929, enrolls about 4,000 full- and part-time students and offers 50 associate degree, diploma and certificate programs.
History
Savannah Technical College was established more than 75 years ago to provide Savannah area residents with career-focused education and training in a variety of fields.
Student Body
About 4,000 students are enrolled in courses at Savannah Technical College every quarter, most of whom come from the Georgia counties of Chatham, Effingham, Liberty and Bryan
Academic Programs
Savannah Technical College offers certificate, diploma and degree programs in more than 50 subject areas. Most of the school's academic program areas focus on career development and includes general studies, business, allied health, economic development and industrial technology.
Age Requirements
Individuals who want to attend Savannah Technical College must be at least 16 years old; students in the cosmetology and allied health programs must be at least 17 years old.
Educational Requirements
Everyone who enrolls in associate degree or certificate programs at Savannah Technical College must have earned a high school diploma or a GED.
Extracurricular Programs
Student organizations at Savannah Technical College include the Dental Assisting Club, Air Conditioning Technology Club, the International Association, and the Cosmetology and Nail Technician Club.
