Take A Good Picture Of Yourself

Taking a good picture of yourself is easy.

Because of amazing advancements in digital camera technology, taking a good picture of yourself is easy. Digital cameras are a breeze to use and have an abundance of features like self-timers and lighting effects. Gone are the days of having to wait for film to be developed. Now you can instantly see what your picture looks like, and if you don't like it you can delete it and try again. Here are a few tips to help you take great photos of yourself that you will be proud to display.

Instructions

1. Choose a background or location that compliments you. For example, if you like nature take a picture of yourself outdoors. If you want a more professional look, use a solid color flat sheet for your background.

2. Add props. Add props to enhance your setting, but don't use objects that will dominate the scene. You should be the focal point of the picture.

3. Decide how you want to dress for your photo. Choose solid colors that are opposite the main colors of your background. For example, if your background is predominately green, wear something red.

4. Pick a pose. Decide what kind of pose you want, then practice it in front of a mirror to see what works best for you. Natural looking poses produce the most attractive results.

5. Determine lighting and angles. For example, if your picture will be taken in low lighting, use a tripod to minimize blurring. Also, avoid harsh lighting and angles that emphasize skin imperfections.

6. Set up your camera and tripod. Set up a temporary object to represent your face or the focal point of the picture. Use this object to determine the best location for your tripod and camera.

7. Tweak your camera settings. Take a few test photos, then adjust your camera settings as necessary until you get a good picture. Make sure the self-timer feature on your camera is working properly.

8. Take a good picture of yourself. Set the self-timer on your camera, move into position, then strike your pose. If you're not pleased with the photograph, reset the camera, adjust your pose, then try again.
