A circuit breaker is a tool that cuts off an electrical circuit when the system is operating normally or when special conditions are occurring. The various types of circuit breakers are vacuum, solid state, air blast, direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC).
Vacuum Breakers
The vacuum breaker uses quick electric revitalization and a high usage of vacuum. Locomotion is spread throughout the bellows at a rapid pace. When the links are separated, an arc is created to support the boiled vapor. Then, the vapor particles enlarge into the vacuum and condensate onto the surfaces. Naturally these particles will disappear, and the arc will be destroyed.
Solid-State Breakers
This type of breaker has a device that stops the flow of the current, but does not stop the flow when going through the third electrode. At the natural state, conduction stops when the flow ends. Solid-state breakers do not require a mechanism. Oftentimes, solid-state breakers can build a current that can maintain a high stable flow.
Air-Blast Circuit Breakers
In air-blast circuit breakers, air is packed in to an extremely high pressure. When the bust valve is unlocked to discharge the pressure, the energy disperses to create an enormous amount of energy. In hydrogen blast circuit breakers, the same standard is employed, with hydrogen being used instead of air. In the hydrogen blast circuit breaker, hydrogen is compressed and makes it flow for a long period of time until the hydrogen diffuses.
Direct-Current Breakers
In direct-current breakers, the lack of a natural state gives it the ability to convert an accelerating voltage to one that is higher than the system voltage, thus stopping the current. To make this happen, the breaker needs to be able to remove energy from the circuit at a rapid rate.
Alternating-Current Breakers
In alternating-current breakers, arcs become extinguished when in a normal state. However, when the voltage is put across, the contacts decrease polarity. In a short period of time, the power becomes the same to the current and voltage. There is a chance to eliminate voltage from the circuit, thus giving it more time to cool and stabilize.
