Graduate School Grants For Tuition

Finding graduate scholarships has never been easier.

There are many graduate scholarships available to every kind of student. Corporations, schools, non-profit organizations, charitable funds and private donors all have programs to help students afford to attend school. There are scholarships based on need, status, age and even religious affiliation. There are scholarships for students studying in every field, from anthropology to zoology. Certain scholarships at the graduate level even pay the full cost of tuition.

School-Based Awards

Colleges understand that tuition is expensive, that's why they offer scholarships and tuition aid to their students. Some schools help students pay for college with tuition discounts. St. John's University in New York gives laid off alumni aid to attend graduate programs at half the regular price. Students at Manchester College in Indiana get to attend a year of graduate school for free if they fail to find a job within six months of receiving their undergraduate degree.

Profession-Specific Scholarships

Many organizations offer scholarships to students pursuing a specific career or subject. Nursing, teaching and business majors seem to have the most options, but it is possible to find scholarships and grants for other fields of study. For example, the Foundation of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) offers a scholarship to students seeking out a degree in healthcare management. The award is $5,000.

Many large businesses such as General Motors and Sprint PCS have scholarship opportunities available to graduate students. For instance, the Emergency Nurses Association offers scholarship awards to its members who are pursuing graduate degrees in emergency or general nursing. If you're a member of some sort of group, fraternity or sorority, they may be offering scholarships their members. A little research might do you good.
