Attract A College Classmate

A classroom setting can complicate the rules of attraction.

Falling for that cute classmate who catches your eye is hardly an uncommon dilemma. But getting that classmate to notice you and sparking a romance is a tricky feat. Attracting a college classmate is fraught with difficulties, and plenty of people advise against the whole notion of dating a classmate, for the drama and tension it causes. But if you can't put your feelings off, try some classic strategies for getting that special girl or guy to notice you.

Instructions

1. Greet your classmate every day when you come in. Starting with a simple "hello" and a friendly smile is the easiest way to grab their attention and break the ice. But take things slowly, or you might come on too strong. Let a relationship build over time before you start trying to attract your classmate in earnest. Begin to use that "hello" as an icebreaker for more meaningful conversations and interactions.

2. Make occasional eye contact with your classmate during class, but only occasionally. Avoid staring and avoid becoming distracted, or your performance in the class will suffer. Not only will this hurt your grades, but your crush is less likely to be impressed if you're doing poorly.

3. Ask your classmate to explain a class topic you don't understand, or need help on. This is another way to spend time with your crush outside of class, and open up the possibility for more, but avoid playing dumb for the sake of this opportunity.

4. Ask your classmate where he or she is heading after class. Offer to walk together if you can, but avoid lying or misrepresenting yourself for the sake of tagging along. Suggest you meet for lunch to discuss the latest lecture, cram for the next test or brainstorm ideas for a paper or project.

5. Let your classmate see your interest, but try to show this subtly, through actions and body language. This is a form of flattery and can be a powerful attraction tool of itself, as long as you're not too forceful. Lean towards your crush when the two of you interact. Try nodding slightly whenever he or she says something.

6. Project an air of confidence and self-esteem in class and in your interactions with your classmate. Confidence is an attractive quality, and it will help your classmate see you in a positive and possibly romantic light.
