Apply For A Federal Housing Grant

Home sweet home.


If you want to purchase a home and you believe you are in a low income bracket and meet the government's requirements for living at the federal poverty level, you may qualify to receive a federal housing grant. Learning how and where to apply can be a very confusing process. The easiest way to apply is online through the government's grant website.


Instructions


1. Go to the grants.gov website and click on the find grant opportunities button. Click on the get registered button, if you are not already registered.


2. Choose the housing grant you want to apply for and make a note of the FON number on a piece of paper for later reference.


3. Register for the credential provider and use your FON number to specify which loan you are applying for.


4. Obtain another username and password and record this information on a piece of paper.


5. Complete the registration process by obtaining all of the usernames and passwords, write the information down and then proceed to apply for the grant.


6. Apply for the grant by selecting the Apply for grants button on the left of the homepage, reference back to the usernames and passwords you registered for and also the FON number and specific housing grant you are applying for.


7. Finish the grant application process by following the online prompts and allow up to 30 days for processing and approval.
