Get A Cosmetology License In Colorado

If you are interested in providing a customer services for their hair styling, nail care, skincare and makeup, then you need to get your cosmetology license. If you live in Colorado, follow these steps to learn how you get your cosmetology license.

1. Look at the Beauty School Directory website and choose "Cosmetology" as your field of choice and "Colorado" as your region choice to find available cosmetology schools. Click on the "Find Schools" link.


2. Choose the city where you want to study. There are four cosmetology schools in Denver, two in Colorado Springs, Littleton and Westminster, as well as eight other schools spread throughout the state.


3. Click on the "Request Info" link for your chosen school. Fill out the provided information form and click on the "Send Info Request" link. This information starts the process of enrollment in your beauty school, but it does not obligate you to attend.








4. Enroll in your beauty school. The national average for full time cosmetology students is between 1400 and 1600 hours. In Colorado you must have 1450 hours. You can expect to finish a full time cosmetology school in less than two years.


5. Visit the "Colorado Office of Barber and Cosmetologist Licensing" website. You need to apply for and pass a written exam. The Promissor website gives information on request an exam, where the test can be taken, how much the different tests cost, as well as a "Record of Completion" form to fill out.
