Transfer From Community College To Usc

Transfer into USC.

The University of Southern California (USC), is a top-tier college in the United States. Each year, the "U.S. News and World Report" ranks USC among the top-30 institutions nationwide. Getting into USC is challenging since the undergraduate program is one of the most selective in the country. Each year, USC accepts approximately 20 percent of transfer and regular-decision applicants from all over the United States.

Instructions

1. Talk to an admissions representative or visit USC's website to determine a time frame for your application process. Begin working on the application about six months ahead of the admissions deadline, which is in the first week of January every year.

2. Complete certain prerequisites, such as English courses, and any other required courses for your particular program.

3. Register for the SAT or ACT six months before the deadline. Over the summer, you should register for a test in September or October so that you can retake the exam in December, if necessary. The testing service will report your scores to USC's admissions office.

4. Request official high school and college transcripts. Your schools will send transcripts directly to USC.

5. Complete and submit Part I of your application before USC's specified deadline. Part I is optional and due within the first two weeks of October. Double check with USC for the specific deadline.

6. Complete a draft of your personal statement and supplemental essays by November before the January deadline. Ask a teacher, counselor or friend to proofread your work.

7. Complete the second part of the USC application. When you are ready to submit your application online, you will be required to pay an application fee.

8. Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine whether you are eligible for financial assistance or application fee waivers. The deadline to complete this application is usually in March.
