Get A Degree For Free

Attending college doesn't have to break the bank.

Debt and a college education seem to go hand-in-hand. It does not have to be that way. With a little work and creativity, there are ways to bring your tuition bill to zero. It may take some digging to find the opportunities, but they are there waiting for you.

Instructions

1. Attend a low-cost or tuition-free institution. Community and junior colleges often have in-state tuitions low enough to be covered completely by government grants. These grants do not have to be paid back. Some community and junior colleges even offer four-year degrees. There are some North American colleges that are tuition-free. Finding and applying to these takes some legwork, but is worth it when you can graduate debt-free.

2. Check into work-study. Work-study programs give you spending and tuition money in return for working on campus. This is one way to make up the difference between grants and tuition, and can pay for things such as books and room and board.

3. Look into scholarships. There are thousands available, and often people do not apply so no one gets the scholarship. Your school counselor can direct you to a list of scholarships and help you learn apply for them. Collect some letters of reference from people you know, and work on writing a good essay.

4. Work at a college or university. Often employees are allowed to take classes tuition-free. If your parents work for a university or college, their free-tuition benefit may extend to you as well.
