Legendary hairstylist Paul Mitchell created a cosmetology curriculum for Rudy & Kelly Academy that gives students the skills to work in a salon, own their own salon or spa or have a career in fashion. At this academy, students receive a well-rounded education with real-life training. The basic cosmetology program offers courses in design, cutting, coloring, makeup and the art of hairdressing.

In 1996, Cynthia St. Pierre opened her first salon in Roanoke, Virginia. Today the salon has expanded to St. Pierre Academy in Salem, Virginia. This academy offers a 52-week cosmetology course. Students of St. Pierre Academy spend time in the salon working on real-life clients. In academic training, students learn about cutting techniques, color services and build a clientele. Graduation requirements for St. Pierre Academy inlcude 1,500 hours of hands-on experience and attendance at two hair shows.

Legends Institute
Legends Institute trains students in the art of cosmetology at their campus in Lynchburg, Virginia. The school's 1,500-hour program is licensed by the State of Virginia and Accredited through The National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences. Courses at Legends Institute are taught with the Pivot Point training method, which uses hands-on learning.
