Go To A Business Trade School

A business degree is one of the most versatile degrees--with it you can work in virtually any industry. At a business trade school, you can complete a range of degrees among a variety of specialties while choosing the pace at which you want to enter the workforce. You may even enter the workforce with your AA and continue pursuing higher degrees.

Instructions

1. Choose the business degree you want to pursue. Your choices include AA, BA and MBA, but you must complete your BA before starting your MBA. Pick your emphasis, either international business, human resources, accounting, marketing or general management.

2. Select an accredited business trade school that offers features to fit your goals and lifestyle. Ask about online programs and/or flexible schedules like evening and weekend classes. Explore fast-track programs that will place you in the workforce within months. Find out how much real-world, hands-on instruction the school provides. Ask if the faculty members have worked as professionals in the field and if current technology is used and taught. Verify the employment rate for graduates.

3. Submit an application, often available online. Meet the admissions requirements, which are usually limited to a high school diploma. Attend any mandated interviews with admissions counselors and take a placement test to determine the course level at which you will start.

4. Finance the tuition. Know the amount of tuition fees, based on your credit level, and their due dates. Pay out of pocket or apply for financial aid and grants. Meet with the school's financial services office to learn more.

5. Take advantage of career services offered by the school. Work with the career placement office to fine-tune your resume and practice your interviewing skills. Join business student associations to start networking with others in the field and establish connections that will help you get hired after you complete your business trade school program.
