The program allows students to improve their riding skills while developing the knowledge to care for horses. Students learn "by doing" so there is not much course work involved. Using school horses, students can specialize in English or Western riding and they’ll get two group riding lessons a week. Students must also take a theory of riding course. Keep in mind, students must be physically fit, as physical activities, such as riding and cleaning out stables, including shoveling, is required. Students also can test for a rider certification from Equine Canada.
