There's a seat waiting for you in college.
More than 3 million first-time freshmen entered colleges and universities in 2008 and the number is expected to rise to 3.5 million by 2019, according to the National Center for Education Statistics. The first step in going to college is getting accepted, and you can't get accepted without completing and submitting an application. Requesting an application is probably the easiest part of the entire college process. The admissions office will give you one if you visit (and answer any questions you might have) or mail one to you if that is more convenient. Most institutions also make them available on line.
Instructions
1. Locate a campus phone number and address by visiting the college's website and clicking on the "Admissions" link.
2. Call directory information to get the contact information for the admissions office if you do not have Internet access.
3. Call the college's admissions office and ask the representative to mail an application to you; provide the address to which you would like the application mailed. Or, write a letter requesting that an application be mailed to you. Include your mailing address in your letter.
