Take Acting Lessons

Acting classes are designed for people looking to hone their acting skills or work on their public speaking. Not all members of an acting class are looking to break into television and movies. You'll find that taking acting lessons can be quite enjoyable and relieve some of the stresses found in your life.

Instructions

1. Check out the course offerings at your community college. For a beginner class, this is the ideal place to start looking. Otherwise, check your phone book for acting coaches that operate in the area.

2. Look for a group class instead of signing up for individual lessons. You get more out of a group setting and can get feedback from more than one person.

3. Research the acting coach's experience. You want someone who has performance credits as well as several years teaching experience. Request a copy of the coach's bio before you sign up for lessons.

4. Find out what areas of acting will be covered in the course. You want a class that teaches you about the basics of acting as well as break into the business.

5. See if you can come in for a trial class. A trial class can give you an idea about how the class is set up and you can see if you respond to the techniques used by the coach.
