Graphic Design Schools In Michigan

Graphic design merges art with communication, and graphic design artists communicate ideas through imagery. As the world becomes increasingly web-based, graphic designers are increasingly in demand. Graphic designers work in a variety of fields, from advertising to website design, and students interested in attending a school in Michigan will find many graphic design programs available to them.

Central Michigan University

Central Michigan University is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design and offers a graphic design concentration within its art major. Art programs at CMU focus on both practical and analytical topics, and graphic design students complete a core curriculum of art courses in addition to courses in typography, website design and digital imaging. CMU offers internships with local organizations and businesses and conducts an artist-in-residence program so that students can learn from acclaimed artists working in different art-related fields.
