Study For A Psychology Exam

Get an "A" in psychology class without exerting yourself the night before the exam. The best time to start preparing for your psychology exam is the first day of class. Knock your research projects out of the way first thing in the course and spend the rest of the time studying easily. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

1. Read your psychology book from chapter one through the final chapter as soon as you can. Read the first two chapters before your first class. Take notes during class; start when you know he's covering the first chapter. Study these notes starting the first night, in addition to your homework.

2. Read your notes every night. Don't just read what you covered that day, read every note you've made since day one. Always read ahead for your psychology class. Highlight the book if you're in college and you bought the book. Review the learning objectives first before highlighting. Make sure that what you highlight responds to these objectives.

3. Knock your research paper out as soon as possible, before you accumulate many notes. The beginning of the course is the best time to complete this paper. You don't want to divide time between studying for your final exam and putting the final touches to your report. With the research paper out of the way early, devote the rest of the time studying for your psychology midterm and final exams.

4. Organize a study group from your psychology class. Find a fun place to be at, like Starbucks or other coffee or pastry hangout. Ask each other questions from previously covered chapters. Use this opportunity to explain things to the others. You want to reinforce class concepts by organizing your thoughts and expressing what you learned in psychology class.

5. Go back and look over your text a week before the exam. Study all the chapters you went over if this is for a high school class. Read through what you've highlighted if this is a college class. Reading your notes everyday makes this part easier and allows you to get more from the reading.

6. Sleep well the night before you take the exam. You want an alert mind during the exam; you won't get that if you deprive yourself of sleep the night before. Don't answer any of the questions until you've read through every question and option. Give your subconscious mind a chance to work over the test while you go over one question at a time.
