Decide On a College Major
So you've decided to go to college, congrats on taking the first step towards a brighter future! Now, if only you could decide what you should major in. With this article and a little research you should be on your way to great career!
Instructions
1. The first thing you should do is ask yourself a few questions. What do you excel in? What were you best subjects in high school? What are your hobbies? What books do you read? Little questions like this can give you clues that can help you decide which career path is right for you.
2. Talk to a guidance counselor at the college you plan to enroll. They deal with students like yourself all the time and are paid to give you career guidance so take advantage of their expertise. You can also ask you counselor if they provide career assessment tests. These are usually done by computer and will ask you several pages of questions to evaluate what your strengths and interests are. You can also go to free-career-test.com to take a free assessment test.
3. Make a list of between 5-10 careers you've narrowed your research down to. Do a little research on each of them. Just google things like, 'how much does a ________ make per year or how much schooling does a ________ have to complete.'
