A variety of scholarships are available to students pursuing a career as a certified clinical nutritionist. Nutrition scholarships are available from several sources, including professional organizations dedicated to consumer health, as well as private companies associated with health and wellness education. While some scholarships for nutrition students are open to both graduate and undergraduate students, others are restricted to graduates or to undergraduates.
ADAF Scholarships
The American Dietetic Association Foundation offers a number of scholarships to students who are pursuing a career as a certified clinical nutritionist. ADAF Scholarships are awarded in amounts ranging from $500 to $3,000. Most ADAF Scholarships are awarded in the amount of $1,000. Scholarships are available to both undergraduate and graduate students. To be eligible, a student must be a member of the American Dietetic Association.

Pearson Higher Education Allied Health Student Scholarship
Textbook publisher Pearson Higher Education makes scholarship money available to nutrition majors through its Allied Health Student Scholarship. Scholarships are awarded in amounts of $500 and $1,000. To be eligible, a student must have taken a class in anatomy and physiology or microbiology within the last two years, and must submit his instructor's signature as proof. In addition to a completed application form, a student must also submit a one-to-two-page essay that details his three best study strategies for health-related courses. The annual deadline for application is Dec. 1.

ASN Predoctoral Fellowships
The American Society for Nutrition provides scholarship support to students pursuing a career as a certified clinical nutritionist through ASN Predoctoral Fellowships for Students in Nutrition Research. ASN Fellowships are awarded in the amount of $5,000. To be eligible, a student must be enrolled in an accredited graduate program and must be a member of the ASN. Eligible students must submit a completed application and a detailed research proposal of no more than four typed pages. The annual application deadline is Dec. 1.
